Calendar

Die Visualisierungen zeigen alle als Katastrophen eingestuften Ereignisse der Jahre 1950 bis 2010 der Kontinente Afrika, Amerika, Asien und Europa. Jede Katastrophe ist durch einen Kreis um den Kalendertag des Ereignisses dargestellt. Die Farbe des Kreises indiziert die Art der Katastrophe, die Ringe die entsprechende Anzahl der getöteten Menschen. Der Index setzt sich aus dem internationalen Ländercode und dem Jahr des Ereignisses zusammen.

The graphic displays all events in Africa, America, Asia or Europe that are categorized as disasters from 1950 to 2010. Each disaster is represented by a circle and rotated around the calendar day of its occurrence. The colour indicates the type of disaster. The kind of circle is equivalent to the number of people killed. The index is composed of the international country code and the year of the event.
